Kershaw Emerson CQC-4KXL Folding Pocket Knife

The "XL" Kershaw-Emerson now features a D2 blade steel, a high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel that is favored by knife makers for its good edge retention and hardness, as well as its enhanced corrosion resistance compared to other high-carbon steels. The cqc-4kxl D2 boasts a large, practical blade that measures just under 4 inches. To ensure a secure and comfortable grip, the knife is equipped with a G10 front scale and steel back. The blade is secured open during use by a sturdy frame lock, which releases easily for closing. Additionally, the cqc-4kxl D2 includes the patented Emerson wave shaped feature, with a small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade designed to catch on the pocket seam, allowing for instant-open functionality as the knife is removed from the pocket. This feature is popular among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users. Alternatively, the knife can also be manually opened using the built-in thumb disk. A reversible pocket clip is included for convenient left-handed or right-handed carry.

Designed by Emerson and built by Kershaw, the cqc-4kxl D2 features a 3.9 inch D2 steel blade, a G10 handle front with 410 stainless steel back, and a bead blasted finish. It is a manual opening knife, with no mechanical assist such as Speed Safe, opening in the classic, old-school way. The D2 steel offers good edge retention and hardness, as well as enhanced corrosion resistance compared to other high-carbon steels. The blade measures 3.9 inches in length, the closed length is 5 inches, the overall length is 9 inches, and the weight is 6.1 ounces (175 grams).
